Underwear in Black-Red-Gold
It's hot! Too hot to do anything but drink cold beer and watch soccer - which I'm pretty content with.
You can currently see something here in Germany which you usually don't see much: the national colors. They even sell underwear in black, red and gold. And no, I don't own a pair!
I still pretend to be a skilled soccer player. I wonder how many people I've been able to convince with my incredible "playing injured" trick. Pretty sure the call to the German Women National Team will come soon. They wouldn't wanna miss out on that kind of chance.
Off to see the next Germany game now... I am bit scared!

Hey since your land in hosting the World Cup does this mean you get time off work to watch the matches and stuff?
@ Stefan: I've seen both men's and women's undies in the German colors. No pics, though, unfortunately. Looks like you found a good one, though! LOL I am very sorry to have disappointed you *hangs head in shame*
@ Clare: That depends on where you work and who you work for. :) But since there's always only one afternoon game right now, it's not as much of a problem. In 2002, when the World Cup was in Korea and Japan, I was still at Uni and the games were all before noon. Lots of classes were either delayed then or they all went to watch the game together (with the profs). One of my literature profs once refused to start the class before "all the texts with the final score are in". (he was a British Lit prof who taught this class for English studies and American Studies students together. After the English team won a game, he showed up in a Union Jack T-Shirt and then wore Stars and Stripes the next week to be fair to the American Studies part of his class LOL)
do you get to see it in person??? Soccer is my fsvorite sport to watch!!! I jealous that it's so close to you!!!!!
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get tickets. It was really tough to get them. Buuut, they have so-called "public viewing areas" everywhere. That means they have huge screens in public places and everyone goes to watch it together. Huge parties on the streets. It's fun!
They have huge screens over here too but it got violent so they took them all away.
Ah, lovely stuff...
Schwarz-rot-gelb... I stocked up on German World Cup toy trucks, bibs, bottles of wine, duvet covers, etc, as gifts for friends back home (or kitsch souvenirs for myself...)
But, still, was encouraging to see the whole colourful German experience, even when eliminated... The shades on the station every morning...
Oh, and go, Klinsi, etcetc... ;)
Sorry, have commented on an old topic myself.
Schade... :|
